I have a basement and crawl space in my building but high humidity levels were a major problem in the crawl section. For several months I battled with mold, mildew and rotten smell each time I entered into my crawl space. As a new homeowner, had no idea what to do, though I’ve been hearing about dehumidifiers I didn’t installed any when the building was under construction due to the high price involved. Consequently, the crawl of my house suffered from humidness over a year and a half. Nevertheless, there was a heavy rainfall that made me purchased Alorair Crawl Space Dehumidifier because the place got flooded and I never wanted the water to compromise my house foundation.
Though it was costly I had no choice at that time due to the flooded situation. I read various reviews talking about crawl space dehumidifiers, compared various features and finally settled for the expensive unit but wonderful device. Sharing this experience with you today is to help you understand the Alorair Dehumidifier and why it shouldn’t be optional.
I will start by listing the features:

- It has a daily output of 90 pints
- It is back up with a 5-year warranty
- Automatic shut off and auto defrosting
- Nice for crawl, basement, storage areas, garage, and large space
Alorair Crawl Space Dehumidifier Review
Installation
Since it was an urgent reason that made me purchased the appliance, however, I did not waste time installing it. The set-up process wasn’t a difficult one, a do-it-yourself kind of person would definitely install the Alorair device. Nonetheless, for the sake of urgency and also not to damage the machine, I called a professional for the installation. The entire process took less than an hour as there was no much procedure involved.
The device was mounted in an area where the humidity was really high, the electrical wire was connected and the hose to drainage. A few minutes later, after the installation, I turn on the AlorAir, set required humidity level and observed it for some minutes before leaving it.
Findings
Returned an hour later I saw a significant difference unlike before, dampness won’t allow someone to see clearly. It was unbelievable, the moisture level was reduced. Then said to myself, never knew crawl space dehumidifiers work not until I tried this ruggedly constructed product from the Aloir Company. This appliance work magic for me, in a space of 24 hours, no signs of humidity was found. I don’t know if other units perform the same way because I can’t testify as this is the first unit I’ve tested.
Design
This Alorair dehumidifier is designed for space up to 2,600 sq. ft and has a withdrawal rate of 90pints per day. It features a hot gas HGV defrosting system that makes it possible for the appliance to operate in the temperature as low as 36-degree Fahrenheit. The defrost option also enables the unit to work continuously and efficiently without periodic stopping.
Internal Corrosion Protection
This is an advanced feature that minimizes corrosion and Freon leakage, as you know in dehumidification applications, there always get oxide, hydroxide, or sulfide, normal coils get corrosion and Freon leakage quickly, this Epoxy-coating serves as protection in corrosive environments and maintain the coil’s heat transfer ability over the life of the coil.
5 Years Warranty
I read various articles before purchasing my first crawl dehumidifier that warranty is a basic feature to consider when purchasing a dehumidifier. Besides, a crawl unit is not a household device that is around $250, as such looking for a product back up with reasonable years of warranty was something I was interested in. Alorair crawl space dehumidifier was just the perfect choice as it features up to 5-years warranty and also supported with an after-sales-service team. Though the quality was superb I just needed a secondary assurance that this device is worth the price.
Aside from the review above, there is a need to let you know the pros and cons
Pros
- Nice quality and durable design
- Up to 90 pints daily moisture removal
